This programme is designed to provide students with the technical skills required both to maintain and manage computer systems in a network environment and also to design and develop applications in Internet computing. It is designed to develop knowledge and skills for effective communication in a variety of public and private work environments. A range of modern developments such as internet technology, multimedia and distributed systems are also covered. The curriculum focuses on enhancing the communication skills necessary for the development of professional competence and values; critical thinking and problem solving; information utilization; and collaboration. The problem-solving skills students acquire will be put to good use in a professional group project. The programme provides students an option to progress on to the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Networking and Communication Technology or Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Engineering Business Management and further to pursuer the master degree in engineering business management awarded by Coventry University, UK.

Students to be admitted to the course must be at least 18 years of age and must have a related business diploma from Auston Institute of Management and Technology, or related business diploma from recognised institutions or professional certificate from recognised institutions.

Auston Institute of Management and Technology is equipped with the necessary infrastructure and training facilities to deliver the associated university programs via structured and directed open learning methods. Occupying a total area of about 16,000 square feet, Auston's city campus houses the training and administrative facilities of the Faculty of Business and Communication, and the Faculty of Computing and Technology. The classrooms and lecture theatres are equipped with teaching aid such as whiteboard and flip-chart, over-head projector and screen and audio sound system for classroom presentation. The engineering and computer laboratories are equipped with computers installed with relevant softwares for educational learning, multisim electronics workbench educational packages, digital oscilloscopes, signal generators and multi-meters and digital signal processing starter kits.
