The programme provides training in business and retail management encompassing areas such as business analysis, business strategy, retail marketing and finance. The major emphasis is on current issues affecting business and problem solving, such as management of change within an increasingly dynamic environment and the development of business skills across organizations and sectors. Students can understand relationships between marketing, quantitative theory, financial management and distribution management. Also they will gain technical knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate ideas in a collaborative environment. Students can combine the skills they acquired to be successful in the retail business with organizational skill development in communications, decision making, and explore issues from marketplace for a well-rounded degree. Students to be admitted to the course must be at least 18 years of age and must have a related advanced diploma from Auston Institute of Management and Technology or polytechnic related business diploma or related business diploma cum advanced diploma from recognised institutions or professional certificate from recognized institutions.

Occupying a total area of about 16,000 square feet, Auston's city campus houses the training and administrative facilities of the Faculty of Business and Communication, and the Faculty of Computing and Technology. The classrooms and lecture theatres are equipped with teaching aid such as whiteboard and flip-chart, over-head projector and screen and audio sound system for classroom presentation. The engineering and computer laboratories are equipped with computers installed with relevant softwares for educational learning, multisim electronics workbench educational packages, digital oscilloscopes, signal generators and multi-meters and digital signal processing starter kits.
