This course provides intensive training for students to become professional interior designers. Emphasis is placed on space planning, creative problem-solving, communication skills and knowledge of building materials, construction, computer-aided drafting and the history of design. The study of interior architecture encompasses the study of both architectural and design content within a built environment, while focusing on the human interface within a given space. This course covers the following areas of study: commercial design, retail design, residential design, restaurant design, ecologically sustainable design, furniture and culture, design career strategies, building contracts, architectural law, project research and development, interior architecture dissertation and internship. Career opportunities of this program include CAD designer, commercial interior designer, design consultant, exhibition designer, furniture designer, institutional interior designer, lighting designer, residential interior designer, design educators and facility managers.

Students should be at least 16 years old with three ‘O’ levels or five ‘N’ level credits or an international school high school equivalent.

Students must pay a non-refundable application fee of S$200 to Raffles Design Institute. In addition to this, they must submit a copy of identity card or passport, three passport sized photographs, copies of latest educational transcripts and certificates (original language and English translated), updated resume (if applicant has working experience for more than one year) and copy of completion of National Service Certificate (for local male applicants). Students should send all the above documents along with the completed and signed application form to Raffles Design Institute, 99 Beach Road, Singapore 189701.
