The objective of the programme is to raise awareness of issues pertaining to government guidelines and curriculum implementation, and current research in pre-school education. It also equips candidates with simple action research skills; and provides them with skills to observe, evaluate and appraise teacher-effectiveness in providing a creative learning environment and thereafter mentor fellow teachers.

Applicant must be a teacher (i.e. registered with MOE / MCYS) and have completed GCE ‘O’ level credits in three different subjects including EL 1 (or minimum IELTS 5.5) plus Certificate in Pre-school Teaching (CPT) and have a Diploma in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPT) or DECCE - T or GCE ‘O’ level credits in five different subjects including EL 1 (or minimum IELTS 5.5) and Diploma in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPT) or DECCE - T. Candidates who are new teachers (i.e. not registered teacher) should have GCE ‘O’ level credits in five different subjects including EL 1 (minimum B4 - If a grade of C5 / C6 for EL 1is obtained, a minimum of IELTS 6.5 must be obtained within two years of teacher registration) and Diploma in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPT) or DECCE - T.

Nanyang Institute of Management (Nanyang) was established in 2001, is a Singapore Quality Class Private Education Organisation (SQC-PEO) and a forward-looking premier education provider of market-relevant programmes in the region. The Institute has four schools: School of Business, School of Tourism and Hospitality, School of Early Childhood Education, and School of Language - offers a wide range of courses leading to Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, as well as Masters Degree and other Post-Graduate programmes. The campus has 20 classrooms with 506 seating capacity. All the rooms are equipped with standard classroom aids OHP, audio/visual facilities, and computer LCD projector. Other facilities includes one seminar room; one executive/ reading corner; general, references and textbooks; fax, scan and photocopy services; and three hospitality training rooms for food and beverage, guestroom and front office. One computer lab is also available with 48 PCs (XP/OS and Office 2003, broadband internet access, intranet portal, amadeus airline/fidelios reservation systems).
